The Contender Workout

The Contender Workout is a high intensity training regimen offered at the Equinox Fitness Club (Scarsdale, NY). It was founded in the year 2000 and has had a following of over 1,500 members since its inception. This 60-minute workout is well known for being fun and challenging. In essence, the routine is the same as a personal one-on-one training session, but it is given in a group setting for a fraction of the price.

Besides the cost effectiveness of The Contender Workout, the group that gathers together experiences a genuine camaraderie as a team striving to reach their fitness goals. This cohesive unit benefits not only physically from their workouts, but they experience an incredible level of empowerment and stress reduction as well. Many of the people who have trained in The Contender Workout find their experience with Rob to be life changing as he aids them in their quest to reach a supreme level of fitness.

In order to maximize cardiovascular fitness and muscle tone, training is disciplined, organized, and structured using time-tested and proven exercises, as well as all the new and updated innovative techniques in the industry. Yet despite its design, each individual session is varied and unique to keep the workouts fun and effective. No two workouts are ever the same.

The Contender Workout combines the fundamentals of boxing, cardio training, strength training, band training, and free weight training into a challenging and strenuous exercise program. Though arduous, the workout is not complicated or difficult to follow. All the movements are broken down into sets and rounds; repetition and high intensity are the keys to the program’s success.

You do not need to be a member of Equinox in order to participate in The Contender Workout. A total of seven classes are offered per week; six in Scarsdale and one in Armonk. Team players can attend any session during the week based on their individual schedule and availability. Packages are offered, but single sessions can be purchased as well. Payments can be made by cash, check, or credit card and must be received before the start of the session. All purchased sessions expire within one year of sale.

The Contender Workout is NOT a class. It is a comprehensive enjoyable workout program. The Contender Workout is structured for anyone who is willing to push themselves and give their best effort.
